It seems slightly odd about the extent to which Sinosource Education focuses on the musical education of the youth. Let Grace, our Director and co-founder, tell you why:
"My son started learning Chinese Erhu at 4 years of age. Erhu in its nature, is a challenging instrument to learn, especially for children who are small physically. It took him 7 years to grasp the instrument fully and to reach Grade 10, which is the highest grade possible for the Chinese Erhu. This journey was very much long-winded and repetitive for him, yet, from the point at which he reached grade 6, he naturally gained confidence in his playing and started to practice without me having to chase after him.
He also learned the tuba from year 1 in primary school, 7 years of age. From the Erhu musical foundation, playing the tuba for him was never really a struggle. It took him four years to reach grade Eight, then when we came to the UK, he did the harder ABRSM grade 8 in year 10 and the Diploma in year 12. He has been a member of the national youth orchestra of Great Britain for the past two years, which is one of the finest, if not, the finest under 18 orchestras in the world.
Charlie's musical journey helped him so much in terms of gaining the confidence to perform and to communicate with fellow musicians, which all feeds back into everyday life. During his GCSEs and A levels, he always used musical practice as a breakout time from intense exam revision, which definitely helped him to compose his emotions and improved his mental health.
It is never too late to start learning music, that is not only what I believe, but what many music industry professionals suggest. Sinosource Education's eagle-eyed focus on musical education strives to help young people build confidence, creativity, and group-working social skills in preparation for their futures."
